2025 Topps Series 1 Major League Material Dual Relic – Seiya Suzuki / Shota Imanaga

Some cards are classics right out of the pack. This, in my opinion, is one of them. I’m not particularly a Cubs fan, but I like them. I have liked Cubs players over the years.   This card just really made me fall in love with it right away.

Why I Like This Card

This card captures a unique moment in Cubs history—two Japanese stars, Seiya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga, sharing the spotlight. It’s not just a dual relic; it’s a cultural and team milestone. The design is clean, the relic swatches are well-placed, and the limited print run makes it feel exclusive. It’s a card that tells a story, not just fills a slot in a binder.

Recent Sales & Value Range

Recent eBay sales for this card have ranged from $22.50 to $40.00 ungraded. A current listing asks $160 for a near-mint copy, though that’s on the high end. Graded versions (if submitted) could push into the $90–$150 range depending on condition and demand.

Collector Notes

  • Part of the Major League Material insert set, which is known for its game-used memorabilia.
  • Features two international stars who’ve made a splash in MLB, especially with the Cubs’ growing global fanbase.
  • The dual relic format is less common than single-player relics, adding to its appeal.
  • A great candidate for grading if the condition is sharp—centering and surface are key.

Ken’s Investment Verdict

🟢 Buy & Hold
This card has long-term upside. Both Suzuki and Imanaga are still in their prime, and if either becomes an All-Star or postseason hero, this card’s value could spike. It’s also a strong PC (personal collection) piece for Cubs fans and collectors of Japanese MLB talent.
