Topps 2025 Series 1 – My Biggest Pulls

Topps 2025 Series 1 baseball cards just dropped, and theyโ€™re awesome. This is my first full year back in collecting, and itโ€™s also my first Series 1 set thatโ€™ve Iโ€™ve gotten my hands on from the get-go. I love ripping packs, and this release has been wicked fun, and to be honestโ€ฆpretty affordable.

First Impressions

The look of these cards is sleek. The sharp layout, clear photography, and clean design make them stand out. My only gripe would be that on some cards with the team colors and the font, it does make it difficult to read some of the cards.

The inserts are loaded with variety, too. From colorful foil parallels to Topps typical, old-school throwback designs, every pack feels like itโ€™s got something special.

Popular Inserts

Topps loaded this set with some wicked good inserts. Some of the most popular ones are:

  • 2024 All-Topps Team: Highlighting last yearโ€™s best players with a shiny foil design.
  • 2024โ€™s Greatest Hits: Spotlighting the biggest plays and moments from last season.
  • Ball to the Hall: Honoring players headed for the Hall of Fame.
  • Training Grounds: A fun twist showing players in action during workouts.

Chase Cards and Rookies

The chase cards are wicked cool this year. The Golden Image Variations with alternate designs are a huge deal. For rookies, 2025 is stacked. Big names like Dylan Crews and James Wood are the cards everyoneโ€™s hunting for. I know there’s a big rookie chase for Colby Mayo, as well.ย  Opened a nice one early on and sold that fast.ย  See image.ย  Also:ย  Keep an eye out for Kristian Campbel!ย  The Red Sox rookie made the team as the starting 2nd basemean and picked up a hit on Opening Day!

I have yet to pull a Gold Image Variation. I have pulled some Crews and Woods cards but no parallels, foils, numbered, etc.ย ย

My Best Pulls So Far

Iโ€™ve had some wicked good luck with this set already. My biggest pulls include:

Note:ย  The light box that I usually use for my photos is broken so I will need to revise some of these photos in the coming weeks.

This is by FAR my biggest pull ever.ย  I was a little bit excited when I pulled it.ย  The week before I had pulled the Judge below…

I’m a Red Sox fan.ย  Aaron Judge is a great player.ย  I’ll sell every Judge card I can get my hands on. LOL.ย  Please someone take this one (for the going price)!

Okay…this might be a little over-priced but I think it’s a nice card. And for a Cubbies fan?ย  COME. AND. GET. IT!

Cards Iโ€™ve Already Sold

The setโ€™s been great for trading and selling, too. Iโ€™ve already sold:

  • 2025 Topps Series 1 Silver Pack Mojo Colby Mayo card #T90C-21 (sold for $59.99) (images above)
  • 2025 Topps Series 1 Jackson Chourio Major League Material (great card, but I let it go) (images above)

What Collectors Are Saying

The card-collecting world is buzzing about Series 1. Lots of folks are hyped about the design and the checklistโ€”itโ€™s got something for everyone.ย

On the flip side, thereโ€™s some chatter about too many parallels making rare pulls harder to get. ย  I agree with this.ย  There are so many diamonds, dusts, shimmers, shammers, mirrors, colors.ย  Itโ€™s ridiculous.ย  TBHโ€ฆitโ€™s kind of crappy for Topps to do it.ย ย

Some have also mentioned centering issues with the cards, which could hurt grading.ย  Speaking the prior point:ย  If youโ€™re going to flood the market with worthless cards and make ALOT of money doing itโ€ฆshouldnโ€™t your quality control be better?ย

How Much Have I Ripped?

As mentioned in the opening paragraph, I got in from the get-go on Topps 2025 Series 1.

I had pre-ordered two hobby boxes and a blaster from Topps. I then bought 1 more hobby box, 2 mega boxes, and have bought 1 mega retail box since then.

Closing Thoughts

Topps 2025 Series 1 has been an amazing start to my year of collecting. Between ripping packs, admiring the cards, and connecting with other collectors, itโ€™s been mad fun. Canโ€™t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
