My first experience with Topps Now was the single worst FIRST experience with any business of any I’ve had.
So, I excitedly ordered my Shohei Ohtani 50/50 card from Topps Now. Iโm pumped, right? But before my card even hit the processing stage, eBayโs flooded with parallels, autos, all the good stuff. And me? My orderโs still โprocessing.โ The tracking number didnโt work, and no shipping confirmation email was sent. Unless Gmail decided to delete just this one email in over a yearโwhich, letโs be real, is NOT happening.
I had to call Topps Now Customer Service five times, waiting 10 to 15 minutes each time just to get a tracking number. I ask why the tracking number on the order page doesnโt work, and I get a question in return: โDid you try tracking it with the email we sent?โ Oh yeah, the email that never existed. Super helpful.
And letโs not forget the timeline. Placed my order on September 20th. Itโs now October 20th. This isnโt Topps Now; itโs more like Topps 30-Days-From-Now, and it seriously sucks.
Frustrationย level?ย Offย theย charts.ย ๐ฅด
Topps Now, was once a revolutionary app for sports card collectors, has seen a significant decline in quality and service. Here’s why I’ve decided to walk away.
1. Frequent App Crashes and Glitches
The Topps Now app has become notorious for its frequent crashes and glitches. These technical issues can frustrate collectors trying to purchase or redeem cards. It’s disheartening to miss out on limited-edition cards due to an unreliable platform.
2. Limited Card Selection
While Topps Now once offered a diverse range of sports cards, the selection has dwindled recently. Many popular athletes and teams are underrepresented, making it challenging for collectors to complete their sets. The lack of variety has significantly reduced the app’s appeal.
3. High Prices and Limited Value
The prices for Topps Now cards have skyrocketed in recent times, making them less affordable for casual collectors. Additionally, the resale value of these cards has become unpredictable, making it difficult to justify the high price tags.
4. Poor Customer Service
When issues arise, Topps Now’s customer service has been less than satisfactory. Many collectors have reported lengthy wait times and unhelpful responses. It’s frustrating to encounter problems and feel unsupported by the company.
5. Lack of Innovation
Topps Now has failed to innovate and keep up with the changing landscape of the sports card market. Competitors have introduced new features and technologies that make their platforms more appealing to collectors. Topps Now has fallen behind in terms of both product offerings and user experience.
As a result of these issues, I have decided to discontinue my use of Topps Now. While the app once held great promise, its current state leaves much to be desired. I hope that Topps will take steps to address these concerns and regain the trust of its collectors.
